I really hate this post… I was driving around when my soldiers called me and said someone had hit the tower. (The first plane) I called for 100% accountability of my platoon. Having seen these kind of events happen before (Desert Storm), I instructed everyone to get all their affairs in order immediately, review their family care plans, and pack their shit. We weren’t the first to deploy, but our turn would come just 3 months later. Life as we knew it, had just changed.
